Alright, you all know my skin care secrets… So, now it’s time to learn my hair care shizzz!
Let’s just jump right into it, shall we?
Unfortunately, I don’t have a set routine a far as my main shampoo and conditioner. It’s pretty hard to keep that consistent while on the road. So I pretty much just use whatever I can find at the local stores.
Right now, it happens to be Pantene… Or Dove… I honestly don’t remember lol. But, I’m not too stoked about it because I have noticed a major difference in the moisture in my hair since going back to using products with sulfates. When I was home, I only used products that were sulfate and parabon free on my hair and it was amazing! But, now I get what I get haha… So, with that being said, I have to take extra care of my locks with a few select products.
My Go-To Hair Mask
I started using the Hello Hair Masks about a month ago and I’m amazed at how well they have helped restore moisture to my hair. Especially the ends! I don’t cut my hair nearly as often now that I’m on the road, so I really needed something for those crusty crusts….
Anyways, the masks range from $15- $18 USD so they are super affordable! The packaging is super easy to travel with so that’s freaking perfect! And, depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you can get about 5-10 uses out of each package!
Seriously guys, this stuff is incredible… It’s made up of amazing ingredients too, which I obviously love!
Here are the main ingredients for this cheeky little hair potion…
Coconut Oil Almond Oil Argan Oil Olive Oi Olive Leaf Extract Caster Oil
You apply the mask to dry hair starting at the scalp and working your way to the ends. But, I have found that if I apply it in three separate parts (scalp, middle, ends) it’s much easier for me to evenly distribute it. So, I start with massaging it into my scalp, and then I take a little bit more and work it into the middle section, and then finally take a little bit more and focus just on the ends. Then once I think it’s evenly distributed, I tie my hair up into a top knot and leave it in for as long as I can. It is only necessary to leave it in for 30 minutes, but I like to do it on days that I don’t have much going on so I can leave it in for a few hours.
Now, I will tell you that if you don’t wash the mask out completely with shampoo, your hair will get pretty greasy. I made the mistake of jumping in the pool to wash it out one day, that was a really bad idea… So when I use shampoo like normal person, I don’t have any problems.
My Hair Coloring?
I obviously cant get my hair colored anymore, so I have resorted to abusing purple shampoo…
Just kidding… But for real I load up on that shit! Whenever someone come’s to visit us, I just have them bring me a bottle of Shimmer Lights because that’s the best and most affordable one. And that way, I don’t have to worry about paying for shipping!
I use purple shampoo twice a week and just apply it at the beginning of my shower and rinse it out after I’ve done everything else. So it’s probably in for about 10 minutes give or take a few.
The purple shampoo just helps with keeping my hair more on the ashy side, which I love! But, it’s been so nice lately because we have been at the beach for about three months now, so my hair is getting lighter and lighter 🙌🏽 HALLELUJAH!
And yes, I am fully aware that the sun dries out your hair. But if I’m being frank, I don’t give a flying **** about that because the sun is not nearly as damaging as bleach! At least that’s what I like to tell myself. So please don’t ruin that for me lol…
My Favorite Hair Brush
The Wet Brush is seriously a game changer! I started using this brush a few years ago, and I’ve never gone back to normal brushes. I honestly don’t know what it is that makes this brush so different but it works wonders on my hair. I highly recommend it to anyone, especially people with fine hair and/or people who have difficulty brushing through their wet hair. This thing is incredible, for real guys!
No Heat Yo
This point is actually super straight forward. I don’t own any hairstyling products anymore (besides my straightener which I never use) so I don’t get the chance to apply additional heat to my hair. This has helped so much with prolonging my time between trims, so I’m stoked about that!
The only shitty part is that I really miss styling my hair haha… So, I have a ton of heatless hairstyles I’ve been meaning to do. But I just never really feel like fully applying my hot girl disguise. So, I pretty much just go with natural or up in a messy bun…
Well guys, that’s pretty much all I have to offer ya on the hair side.
Hopefully you enjoyed my unorganized ramble lol, but honestly is it even possible to ramble in an organized way? Food for thought….
For real though, please let me know if you guys have any questions! And suggestions are always welcome! <3
