How do I stay fit while traveling!?
So, I know I’ve touched on this subject a bit before, but I really wanted to dedicate an entire post to it.
Guys, running is like the easiest way to exercise while traveling.
First, running is a great way to stay in shape and keep your cardiovascular strength up.
Second, just about anyone can run. Or at least go power walking.
Third, you can run anywhere! And it’s FREE!
Now hear me out, running is freaking boring. (At least for me it is.) But I have found that I actually enjoy running in new places, because I get to see everything in a natural and healthy way! When I force myself to go out and run, the only way I don’t get bored is if I really take in my surroundings. I find that I begin to truly appreciate what my eyes are seeing, and how blessed I am to be able to run in such a gorgeous place.
I freaking love it, you guys. And I am NOT a runner. But, how can I complain when I’m running in gorgeous places like Barcelona, Rome, Costa Rica, Bali, etc!?
Haha yeah, I can’t complain one bit…
So now you’re probs like, “But Kels, you’re running in sick places and I’m just at home”
Das true yoooo… But remember, this blog series is about staying fit while TRAVELING. So get your ass out there and go run in the next sick destination you’re at!
Pro Tip –
One of my fave ways to get a bit more out of my run is to turn it into internal training. This makes it a hell of a lot harder, you burn more fat, and it’s a little bit more interesting if you really HATE running.
So typically when I do an interval based run, I’m only exercising for 20 minutes.
Yeah! Supppaaaa quick!
This is what I do… Walk for 45 seconds. Sprint for 20 seconds. Do that for 20 minutes straight and I promise you will be cursing me and yourself at the end…
But, don’t waste your time and just jog the 20 seconds. Like naahhhhhh, you gotta sprint your freaking ass off! Or else, it’s just not worth it…
That’s all I’ve got for you guys today. Hopefully it wasn’t too boring haha…
Anyways, I would love to hear where you guys have gone on runs! So please let me know in the comments!
Love you babes,
